Sometimes a character lives in your mind for so long they feel like your friend. You dream about meeting them and shaking their hand and watching them in action. This is the plight of the writer. The characters that live in your head who are dying to break out. And yes, somedays it does feel like they are smashing in the inside of your skull with a hammer.
This is one of those friends. Her name is RAGE and she is a berserker monster with a massive spiked ball and chain. In the world of Kids & Monsters, she is my pressure valve. She is the one who can crush baddies and make things right with her fists and teeth. Something I wish I could do in the real world, but things don’t quite work that way in the world of grown-ups.
She was begging to get out so much I even crafted a figurine of her. We had a painted version for sale on the campaign page.
Today is Rage’s birthday
She was conceived with ink and put out on a page by Maxi Dall’o. She has left my skull and is now out in the world for others to experience. I can now watch her in action and for a moment, and just a small one, my mind is quiet… until the next character comes walking.
Here is RAGE’S appearance in the world of Kids & Monsters. You can see the red lines all the way to the final inks. I hope you enjoy her as much as I do. There is much more of her to come in the world of K & M.
Keep fighting the fight!
